Considering the importance of immunity boosting measures in the wake of COVID-19 outbreak, Shakthi Education Trust intended to promote the use of herbs easily available in the kitchen in the form of a decoction on a regular basis in the interest of health promotion of the masses- the staff, visitors and students. This unique gesture began right from the advent of corona into our normal life.
The ingredients of the decoction is usually tulsi, cinnamon, black pepper, dry ginger, mint leaves, kokkam, raisins, amla, lemon and dates. Monday ‘Amlakai Panaka’ Tuesday ‘Mint Panaka’ Wednesday ; Ragi Juice’ Thursday ‘Amal Sojash’ friday ‘Raisin/Dates juice’ Saturday ‘Kokkam’ and Sunday ‘Lemon Panaka’ is served as per the Ayush Ministry Guidelines. The afternoon lunch also follows Ayush recipies with utmost care for the residential students and staff said the Administrator Dr. K.C.Naik.
In the wake of the Covid 19 outbreak, when entire mankind across the globe is suffering, enhancing the body’s natural defence system plays an important role in maintaining optimum health. We all know that prevention is better than cure, he concluded.
The District Health Department’s Nodal Officer for COVID 19- Dr. Ashok, District Surveillance Officer Dr. Jagadish and Dr. Nazareth Parana of the Primary Health Centre, Shakthinagar inspected the campus and appreciated the Management for the perfection in displaying the protocol, keeping the campus hygienic, following the social distancing norms, placing of Sanitizers, maintaining the mess well and for the management of the waste. They opined it to be a Model campus and asked to continue the same.
While the medicine for COVID-19 is underway as of now, it will be good to take preventive measures which boost our immunity in these times.
