“Anything that does not create value is defined as a waste. In a common man’s eye anything that is unwanted or not useful is garbage or waste. However scientifically speaking there is no waste as such in the world. Almost all the components of solid waste have some potential, if it is converted or treated in a scientific manner.
Organic or inorganic wastes produced, which have lost their value in the eyes of the first owner but which may be of great value to somebody else is a solid waste. Generation of waste is inevitable in every habitation. Shakthi Black Soldier composting pit is a solution to the waste generated in the campus” said Sri EkagamyanandaSwamiji of the Ramakrishna Mission during the inauguration of the SHAKTHI BLACK SOLDIER COMPOSTING PIT in the Shakthi Campus.
He opined that this venture is the first of its kind in an educational institution in Mangaluru under their guidance. He insisted that the Students as well as the parents and the community at large are to be made aware of sorting the dry and the wet waste at the source and then subject the wet waste to the bin, where the naturally present Black soldier Fly will act upon it and produce fertile organic manure. Swamiji called upon the audience to be a part of the solution.
Sri Ranjan, Co-ordinator for the Mangalore chapter SwacchAbhiyana was present on this occasion along with dedicated volunteers to support this noble task at Shakthi.

ಶಕ್ತಿನಗರದ ಶಕ್ತಿ ರೆಸಿಡೆನ್ಶಿಯಲ್ ಸ್ಕೂಲ್ ಮತ್ತು ಶಕ್ತಿ ಪಪೂ ಕಾಲೇಜಿನ ವತಿಯಿಂದ ಸ್ವಚ್ಛಭಾರತ್ ಅಭಿಯಾನದ ನಿಮಿತ್ತವಾಗಿ ಶ್ರೀ ರಾಮಕೃಷ್ಣ ಮಿಷನ್ ಮಂಗಳೂರಿನ ಸಹಯೋಗದೊಂದಿಗೆ ಶಕ್ತಿ ಬ್ಲ್ಯಾಕ್ ಸೋಲ್ಜಾರ್ ಕಾಂಪೊಸ್ಟಿಂಗ್ ಘಟಕವನ್ನು ಶಾಲಾ ಕ್ಯಾಂಪಸ್‌ನಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ಥಾಪಿಸಲಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಈ ಘಟಕವನ್ನು ಶ್ರೀ ರಾಮಕೃಷ್ಣ ಮಿಷನ್‌ನ ಸಂಯೋಜಕರಾದ ಶ್ರೀ ಏಕಗಮ್ಯಾನಂದ ಸ್ವಾಮೀಜಿಯವರು ಉದ್ಘಾಟಿಸಿದರು. ಪ್ರಧಾನಿ ನರೇಂದ್ರ ಮೋದಿಜೀಯವರ ಸ್ವಚ್ಛ ಭಾರತದ ಕಲ್ಪನೆಗೆ ಶಕ್ತಿ ಎಜ್ಯುಕೇಶನ್ ಟ್ರಸ್ಟ್ ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣವಾಗಿ ಕೈ ಜೋಡಿಸಿದೆ. ಗಾಂಧೀಜಿಯವರ 150 ನೇ ಜನ್ಮದಿನಾಚರಣೆಯ ಪ್ರಯುಕ್ತ ಆರಂಭಿಸಲಾಗಿರುವ ಸ್ವಚ್ಛತ ಆಂದೋಲನ ಅಭಿಯಾನ ಮುಂದುವರಿದ ಭಾಗ ಈ ಕಾಂಪೊಸ್ಟಿಂಗ್ ಘಟಕ.
ವಸತಿ ನಿಲಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಅಡುಗೆಗೆ ಉಪಯೋಗಿಸಿದ ತರಕಾರಿ ಹಾಗೂ ಊಟ ಮತ್ತು ಇತರೆ ತಿಂಡಿಗಳು ಉಳಿದ ನಂತರ ಅದನ್ನು ಸಂಗ್ರಹಿಸಿ ಈ ಘಟಕಕ್ಕೆ ಸುರಿಯುತ್ತೇವೆ. ಈ ಘಟಕದಿಂದ ಒಂದು ತಿಂಗಳ ನಂತರ ಸುಮಾರು 25 ಕೆಜಿ ಗೊಬ್ಬರವು ದೊರೆಯುತ್ತದೆ. ನಮ್ಮ ಕ್ಯಾಂಪಸ್‌ನಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಹಸಿರು ತರಕಾರಿ ಹಾಗೂ ಇತರೆ ಗಿಡ ಮರಗಳಿಗೆ ಇದು ಗೊಬ್ಬರವಾಗಿ ಮಾರ್ಪಡುತ್ತದೆ. ಇಂತಹ ವಿನೂತನವಾದ ನೈಸರ್ಗಿಕವಾದ ಘಟಕವನ್ನು ಪ್ರಾರಂಭಿಸಿರುವ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯ ಶ್ರಮವನ್ನು ಶ್ರೀ ರಾಮಕೃಷ್ಣ ಮಿಷನ್ ಅಭಿನಂದಿಸುತ್ತದೆ ಎಂದು ಸ್ವಾಮೀಜಿ ಹೇಳಿದರು.
ಸ್ವಾಮೀಜಿ ಮಾತನಾಡುತ್ತಾ ಯಾವುದೇ ವಸ್ತುವು ನಿರುಪಯುಕ್ತವಲ್ಲ. ಅದನ್ನು ಪುನರ್ ಉಪಯೋಗ ಮಾಡುವುದರಲ್ಲಿ ಜಾಣ್ಮೆ ಅಡಗಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು. ಮಂಗಳೂರಿನ ಜನ ಬುದ್ಧಿವಂತರಾಗುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಅವರ ಅವರ ಮನಯಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ಒಣ ಕಸ ಮತ್ತು ಹಸಿ ಕಸವನ್ನು ಬೇರ್ಪಡಿಸುವ ವಿಧಾನವನ್ನು ಕಲಿಯುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಇದರಿಂದ ಸರ್ಕಾರಕ್ಕೆ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಲಾಭವಾಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಮಂಗಳೂರಿನ ವಾಮಂಜೂರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಕಸ ಶೇಖರಣೆ ಮಾಡುವ ಜಾಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಕಸವನ್ನು ಹಾಕಿದರೆ ಭೂಮಿ ಹಾಳಾಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ಅವರ ಅವರ ಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹಸಿ ಕಸವನ್ನು ಕಾಂಪಸ್ಟಿಂಗ್ ಮಾಡುವ ವಿಧಾನಕ್ಕೆ ನಾವೆಲ್ಲರೂ ತಯಾರಾಗಬೇಕೆಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು.
ದ.ಕ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಶಕ್ತಿ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯು ಪ್ರಥಮವಾಗಿ ಈ ಕಾಂಪೊಸ್ಟಿಂಗ್ ಘಟಕವನ್ನು ಪ್ರಾರಂಭಿಸಿರುವುದು ಶ್ಲಾಘನೀಯ ಎಂದು ಅವರು ಹೇಳಿದರು. ಈ ಘಟಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಬ್ಲ್ಯಾಕ್ ಸೊಲ್ಜಾರ್ ಎಂಬ ಹುಳದ ಉತ್ಪಾದನೆ ಪ್ರಾರಂಭವಾಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಇದು ಕಾಂಪೊಸ್ಟಿಂಗ್ ಗೊಬ್ಬರವನ್ನು ಉತ್ಪಾದನೆ ಮಾಡುತ್ತದೆ. ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಹಾಗೂ ಪೋಷಕರು ಈ ವಿಷಯದ ಮೇಲೆ ಗಮನ ನೀಡಬೇಕೆಂದರು.
ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷತೆಯನ್ನು ಶ್ರೀ ಗೋಪಾಲಕೃಷ್ಣ ದೇವಸ್ಥಾನದ ಆಡಳಿತ ಮೊಕ್ತೇಸರ ಶ್ರೀ ಕೆ.ಸಿ ನಾೖಕ್‌ ವಹಿಸಿ ಮಾತನಾಡಿ, ಶ್ರೀ ರಾಮಕೃಷ್ಣ ಮಿಷನ್ ಸ್ವಚ್ಛ ಭಾರತದ ಕಲ್ಪನೆಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣ ಮಂಗಳೂರನ್ನು ಸ್ವಚ್ಛತೆಯನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿದೆ. ಇದು ದೇಶಕ್ಕೆ ಮಾದರಿಯಾಗಿದೆ. ಇಂತಹ ಕೆಲಸಕ್ಕೆ ನಾನು ಅವರನ್ನು ಅಭಿನಂದಿಸುತ್ತೇನೆ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು.
ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದ ವೇದಿಕೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಶ್ರೀ ಗೋಪಾಲಕೃಷ್ಣ ದೇವಸ್ಥಾನದ ಟ್ರಸ್ಟಿ ಸಗುಣ ಸಿ. ನಾೖಕ್‌, ಪ್ರಧಾನ ಸಲಹೆಗಾರ ರಮೇಶ್ ಕೆ, ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿ ಪ್ರಖ್ಯಾತ್ ರೈ, ಶ್ರೀ ಗೋಪಾಲಕೃಷ್ಣ ಪೂರ್ವ ಪ್ರಾಥಮಿಕ ಶಾಲೆಯ ಸಂಚಾಲಕಿ ನೀಮಾ ಸಕ್ಸೇನಾ, ಶ್ರೀ ರಾಮಕೃಷ್ಣ ಮಿಷನ್‌ನ ಸ್ವಚ್ಛ ಭಾರತ್ ಸಂಚಾಲಕ ರಂಜನ್ ಉಪಸ್ಥಿತರಿದ್ದರು.
