‘Achievers never expose themselves but their achievement expose them’. The Shakthi Kabbadi players proved this back to back in the recently held matches. In the floodlight kabbadi match that was organized by the Panchashri Sports Club, Panja on 25th December the kabbadi team from Shakthi PU College bagged third place in the 65 kg open mat contest. 24 teams participated from the various taluks of the district and it was the first ever victory under the Shakthi banner.
Vishnu Friends Kundadka organized a kabbadi match for under 22 category on 26th December in which 45 teams participated. Shakthi PU College won third place in this. The team won the ‘Best Disciplined Team’ award too. The cash prize won in both the contest was donated to the most deserving Padmavathi, bedridden for 2 years from the Ullal Bailu area for her medical expense and exhibited compassion too. Ullal Friends team also joined in this noble cause.
Aakash Shetty, Physical Director of Shakthi PU College is serving as their kabbadi coach too. Nikhil, Imran, Satvik, Pava,, Pavan H.B, Suraj, Santosh, Pranam, Dhanush, Suman, Manoj, Hitesh represented the Shakthi team. Dr. K.C.Naik, Administrator, Ramesh K Chief Advisor, Institute Development Officer Prakyath Rai, PrathviRaj Academic Co-ordinator, Prof T.Rajaram Rao, Principal Shakthi PU College and Vidya Kamath G, Principal Shakthi Residential School Congratulated the team for their victory.
ದ. ಕ. ಜಿಲ್ಲಾ ಮಟ್ಟದ ಕಬಡ್ಡಿ ಪಂದ್ಯಾಟದಲ್ಲಿ ತೃತೀಯ ಸ್ಧಾನವನ್ನು ಪಡೆದ ಶಕ್ತಿ ಪಪೂ ಕಾಲೇಜು
ಮಂಗಳೂರು ಡಿ. 28 : ಶಕ್ತಿನಗರದ ಶಕ್ತಿ ಪಪೂ ಕಾಲೇಜು ಮಂಗಳೂರು ಡಿ. 25 ಮತ್ತು 26 ರಂದು ನಡೆದ ಜಿಲ್ಲಾಮಟ್ಟದ ಕಬಡ್ಡಿ ಪಂದ್ಯಾಟದಲ್ಲಿ ತೃತೀಯ ಸ್ಧಾನವನ್ನು ಪಡೆದಿರುತ್ತದೆ. 65 ಕೆ.ಜಿ ತೂಕದ ಮುಕ್ತ ಮ್ಯಾಟ್ ಕಬಡ್ಡಿ ಪಂದ್ಯಾಟವು ಡಿ. 25 ರಂದು ಪಂಜದಲ್ಲಿ ಆಯೋಜನೆಯಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಪಂಚಶ್ರೀ ಪಂಜ ಸ್ಪೋರ್ಟ್ ಕ್ಲಬ್ ಪಂಜ ಆಯೋಜಿಸಿರುವ ಜಿಲ್ಲಾ ಮಟ್ಟದ ಕಬಡ್ಡಿ ಪಂದ್ಯಾಟದಲ್ಲಿ 24 ತಂಡಗಳು ಭಾಗವಹಿಸಿದವು. ಇದು ಹೊನಲು ಬೆಳಕಿನ ಮ್ಯಾಟ್ ಪಂದ್ಯಾಟವಾಗಿತ್ತು.
ಇದರಲ್ಲಿ ತೃತೀಯ ಸ್ಧಾನವನ್ನು ಪಡೆಯುವುದರ ಮೂಲಕ ಪ್ರಥಮ ಭಾರಿಗೆ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯ ಕೀರ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ಹೆಚ್ಚಿಸಿತು. ಡಿ. 26 ರಂದು ವಿಷ್ಣು ಫ್ರೆಂಡ್ಸ್ ಕುಂಡಡ್ಕವು ಆಯೋಜಿಸಿದ 22 ವರ್ಷದ ಒಳಗಿನ ಕಬಡ್ಡಿ ಪಂದ್ಯಾಟದಲ್ಲಿ 45 ಕಬಡ್ಡಿ ತಂಡಗಳು ಭಾಗವಹಿಸಿದವು. ಇದರಲ್ಲಿಯು ಶಕ್ತಿ ಪಪೂ ಕಾಲೇಜು ತೃತೀಯ ಸ್ಧಾನವನ್ನು ಪಡೆಯುವುದರಲ್ಲಿ ಯಶಸ್ವಿಯಾಗಿದೆ. ಹಾಗೂ ಉತ್ತಮ ಶಿಸ್ತುಬದ್ಧ ತಂಡ ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ಗಳಿಸಿದೆ. ವಿಶೇಷವಾಗಿ ಶಕ್ತಿ ಪಪೂ ಕಾಲೇಜು 2 ಪಂದ್ಯಾಟದಲ್ಲಿ ಗಳಿಸಿದ ನಗದು ಹಣವನ್ನು ಸಮಾಜದ ಹಿಂದುಳಿದ ಬಡ ಕುಟುಂಬದ ಉಳ್ಳಾಲ ಬೈಲು ಪ್ರದೇಶದ 2 ವರ್ಷಗಳಿಂದ ಅನಾರೋಗ್ಯ ಪೀಡಿತರಾಗಿದ್ದ ಪದ್ಮಾವತಿ ಇವರ ಚಿಕಿತ್ಸಾ ವೆಚ್ಚಕ್ಕೆ ಹಣವನ್ನು ನೀಡುವುದರ ಮೂಲಕ ಮಾನವೀಯತೆಯನ್ನು ಮೆರೆದಿರುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಇವರ ಜೊತೆ ಉಳ್ಳಾಲ ಫ್ರೆಂಡ್ಸ್ ತಂಡವು ಕೈ ಜೋಡಿಸಿರುವುದು ವಿಶೇಷವಾಗಿದೆ. ಶಕ್ತಿ ಪಪೂ ಕಾಲೇಜಿನ ದೈಹಿಕ ನಿರ್ದೇಶಕರಾದ ಆಕಾಶ್ ಶೆಟ್ಟಿಯವರು ಈ ತಂಡದ ಕಬಡ್ಡಿ ತರಬೇತುದಾರರಾಗಿ ಮಾರ್ಗದರ್ಶನ ನೀಡಿರುತ್ತಾರೆ.
